Aviary

Aviary

The Aviary is Currently Closed For The Season.

When visiting our Australia Exhibit, be sure to come out and experience our free flight aviary. Immerse yourself in the Australian outback as budgerigars fly around you. In the wild, budgerigars live throughout the drier parts of Australia where the species has survived harsh inland conditions for the last five million years.

Home to 500 free flight Australian grass parakeets as well as Laughing Kookaburras and dazzling lorikeets, the Outback Aviary is a unique experience for visitors to interact with some of Australia’s amazing wildlife. Visitors can purchase a feed stick and have birds literally eating out of their hands. The aviary is open beginning mid-May through the end of September.
