Event Details

Join Turtle Back Zoo and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ annual Earth Day Celebration. Animal talks and entertainment help young and old connect with the natural world. Montclair Art

Museum Art Truck is joining the festivities as well! What things can you think up to reuse to create beautiful art?

New this year- Swing over to the Children’s Music Festival on our amphitheater stage to find your inner party animal. Lineup includes:

11:00 am     Music with Molly (http://musicwithmollynj.com)

Molly Dorsman has been delighting very young children and their grown-ups in her Music with Molly classes in Essex County, getting consistent rave reviews from the large Meetup group Montclair Playgroup. Her interactive show will get you and the little ones up and moving together.

11:35 am     Baze & his Silly Friends (http://mysillyfriends.com)

What you’ll love about Baze is the way he reacts from the stage when your child participates in the show. He really dials up the “silly” when he mixes up the nursery rhymes and a young audience member corrects him. Of course, Baze also comes with rockin’ riffs a-blazing; when he’s not acting super-silly on stage, he’s producing records and other audio, like the voicedubbing in the new movie Rock Dog.

12:10 pm     Miss Nina (http://mymissnina.com)

A YouTube star for kids & families. Her “Brown Bear Rap” based on the Eric Carle/Bill Martin Jr. book is fast approaching half-a-million views, and for good reason. Kids and grown-ups love the way she brings children’s books to life with music & pictures. Her latest album Every Day’s Your Birthday has been well received by critics in the children’s music world. The songs from this latest record have wonderful
interactivity built right into the lyrics, which are fully realized in Nina’s live performances.

12:45 pm    The Fuzzy Lemons (http://www.facebook.com/thefuzzylemons)

An eclectic group that effortlessly combines rock, funk and blues, all on a mission to show families a great time. They routinely pack venues like the legendary Maxwell’s Tavern in their hometown of Hoboken.

1:20 pm        Jason Didner and the Jungle Gym Jam (http://junglegymjam.com)

The Jungle Gym Jam’s relationship with the Turtle Back Zoo traces back to the group’s very beginning as a band. In fact, the Zoo inspired band founders Jason and Amy’s first songs for their new project, including “Five Sea Lions,” “Window of the Train” and the hilarious “The People Exhibit at the Zoo.” Jason and band take their musical cue from great Jersey Shore sounds of Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny. Their stage show is made up of interactive moments involving puppets, freeze dancing and hand gestures that illustrate the ideas in the songs.

*please note, there may be some changes to the lineup listed above.
