Giraffe House Behind the Scenes
Saturdays and Sundays in March 2020
***These are the last Behind the Scenes Tours of Giraffes until next season (starting in November 2020)***
Note: Because the weather in March continues to be unseasonably warm, the giraffe may not be in the barn if the outside temperature is 50 degrees or above. In addition to the regular tour of the barn, keepers will escort tour attendees to a special viewing area attached to the giraffe barn that is not accessible to the general public if the giraffe are on exhibit. As with all tours, with giraffe inside or outside, the giraffe may or may not come close, but usually do.
All tours begin at 2pm.
Ticket includes:
- 30 – 45 minute Behind the Scenes Tour in the Giraffe Barn
- Meet and greet the Giraffe Keeper
- Admission to the zoo for the day (for non-Zoological Society members)
For 6 years old and over, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All members of the party must have a ticket. Group sizes are limited to 10 people. No photographs are permitted; all attendees will sign a photo waiver prior to entering the giraffe barn.

Your Behind the Scenes ticket gives you Zoo admission before and/or after the tour. Tour attendees must meet Tour Staff 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour at the Reptile House (inside if inclement weather, outside if weather is nice). Tours start promptly at the agreed-upon time; late arrivals may lose part of the tour by being late, or lose the entire tour without refund. Tours will commence regardless of weather, unless cancelled by the Zoo due to unsafe conditions for our Animals, Staff, or Tour Attendees. If we cancel a tour due to weather we will notify you as soon as possible and will reschedule a date and time. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions and for walking the Zoo.
Rescheduling: Cancellations may be made up to 7 days prior to the originally scheduled tour date and time; no refunds will be offered less than 7 days prior to the originally scheduled tour date and time.
