Tired of the same old dinner and a movie night out? Curious about the diverse breeding behaviors of some of the wilder residents of Turtle Back Zoo? Join our staff for a fun and frank discussion about non-hetero normative animal interactions of our animals at TBZ. Everyone is welcome.
In the Spirit of Pride Night is an evening education event for adults, ages 21 and over. The theme is “Same Sex Animal Interactions and SSPs”. We will address our Zoo’s mission of Education, Conservation, and Stewardship in the context of scientific research, public relations, conservation institutions, and Species Survival Plan (SSP) breeding programs. The event is meant to be informative, yet tongue-in-cheek fun. For any questions about the event, please contact mhunt@parks.essexcountynj.org.
What’s Included:
- Appetizers and buffet-style dinner with one complimentary alcoholic beverage (beer or wine) included, cash bar available
- Education program that will present animal same-sex behavior research, feature a Spotted Hyena case-study, and explore zoo breeding programs and challenges
- Behind the Scenes Tours
- Dessert
The event will take place at Turtle Back Zoo and the Savanna Cafe. Please enter at the Main Gate entrance to the Zoo. You will be met at the gate and directed to the Cafe for the start of the program.
